Si Ayer Fuera HoyThe band's journey began with childhood friends Juan Pablo Isaza and Juan Pablo Villamil, who shared a passion for music from an early age. They later joined forces with the Vargas brothers, Martín and Simón, to form Morat. The band's name "Morat" is derived from the Spanish word for the name of the author Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, who was an influential poet and writer.
Morat's musical style is a fusion of pop, rock, and folk, often incorporating elements of Colombian and Latin American folk music into their sound. Their lyrics often revolve around themes of love, relationships, and personal experiences, resonating with a broad audience.
The band released their first single, "My New Vice," in 2015, which quickly gained traction and laid the foundation for their successful career. Subsequently, they released their debut album, "Sobre el Amor y Sus Efectos Secundarios," in 2015, which received critical acclaim and commercial success in both Colombia and Spain.
Their breakthrough came with the release of the hit single "Cómo Te Atreves," which garnered massive attention and became a chart-topping success. Following this, Morat collaborated with major artists within the Latin music industry, further solidifying their position. Notable collaborations include songs with Paulina Rubio, Juanes, Alvaro Soler, and many others.
El trayecto de la banda comenzó con los amigos de la infancia Juan Pablo Isaza y Juan Pablo Villamil, quienes compartían una pasión por la música desde temprana edad. Más tarde se unieron a los hermanos Vargas, Martín y Simón, para formar Morat. El nombre de la banda, "Morat", proviene de la palabra española que es el nombre del autor Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, quien fue un poeta y escritor influyente.
