The band's journey began with childhood friends Juan Pablo Isaza Piñero and Juan Pablo Villamil Corté, who shared a passion for music from an early age. They later joined forces with the Vargas brothers, Martín and Simón, to form Morat. The band's name "Morat" is derived from the Spanish word for the name of the author Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, who was an influential poet and writer.
Morat's musical style is a fusion of pop, rock, and folk, often incorporating Colombian and Latin American folk music elements into their sound. Their lyrics often revolve around themes of love, relationships, and personal experiences, resonating with a broad audience.
The band released their first single, "My New Vice," in 2015, which quickly gained traction and laid the foundation for their successful career.
